Son of James and Eliza Jane Fraser, of 65, Nairn Terrace, Ascot Vale, Victoria, Australia
The official confirmation of the news of Pte. W. A. Fraser's death, after 2 1/2 years' service is keenly felt as he is the second son of Mr and Mrs J. Fraser, of 11 Herbert street, who has made the supreme sacrifice in the great war, his brother, Walter W., being one of the first local lads to be killed on Gallipoli on May 1st, 1915. By his genial disposition Private Arthur Fraser was most popular among a wide circle of friends. He was closely connected with the Presbyterian Church and the Worker's Educational Association, and was a member of the Footscray A.N.A. and the Sunshine Masonic Lodge. He was Mr and Mrs Fraser's eldest son and was 30 years of age when he met his death.
