He was killed in action 9th June 1918 having just returned from a previous wound received in action 23rd May 1918.
He was 33 and the son of David Henry and Fanny Watts, of Highfield, Caldecote, Cambridgeshire, England.

He is remembered on the Caldecote War Memorial, Cambridgeshire, England. This memorial takes the form of a marble tablet to be found inside the parish church (redundant). It was unveiled in 1920 and contains three names for World War 1.
