OBITUARY.
MR. CHARLES LOCKWOOD.
After a month's illness the death occurred in the Base Hospital, yesterday, of Mr. Charles Lockwood, at the age of 60 years. He was born in England and came to these shores when only an infant. He is best-known in the Cadia Road portion of the district, where for some time he assisted on a farm conducted by Mr. Ind. For a number of years he was employed in the railway sheds at Newcastle, and then opened a business of his own, which he was unable to carry on through the depression, whereupon be went to Tamworth to prospect for gold. His wife predeceased him, but he is survived by one daughter (Mrs. Stallard, of Sydney) and one son (Mr Hector Lockwood, of Newcastle) and a sister, Mrs. Schofield, of Sale Street, Orange. Other brothers and sisters also survive. The funeral will take place tomorrow, Mr. T. J. McGowan having charge of mortuary arrangements.
