Prior to enlisting in the AIF he served from 20 October 1915 until being discharged on the 15 February 1916 during which he held the rank of Private and service number 86 at Torrens Park, SA

Son of John Fox and Elizabeth Ann Fox nee Lewis of 17 Kate Street, Adelaide

Commenced return to Australia on 22 June 1919 aboard HT Konig Luise as nursing staff disembarking on 13 August 1919

On 21 April 1923 Leslie married Magaret Meta Lithgow in St Augustine's Church, Unley, SA. Father of William Lithgow
