Appointed as SA State represerntative on the Federal Executive on the Federal Executive. Sevrvinga as Rector of Christ Church Strathablyn.  Born in Blackburn Lancashire England, spent his infancy in India before coiming to South Australia. He attended St Peters College Adelaide.  On leaving school he was a miner working in Moonta and Wallaroo copper mines.  Whikle working as a miner he took a study course in mine surveyor attending evening classes at the Moonta School of Mines. Owing to a warm friendship with Dr Harmer then Bishop of Adelaide, Mr wood threw up his mining carrer and entered St Barnabas Theological College Adelaide. Mr wood when first ordained was at goodwood, where he assisted Cannon Wise at Church of St.George.  he then moved to Srathalbyn were he remained.  When the war broke out he was married with four children.  He having a large family  waited to enlist in 1915 there was a need for chaplains for the military and he joined up.  He was disabled and discharged in 1917.  On return he maintained his interest in servicemen and he became president of the Strathalbyn Sub Branch of the League for it's first two years it operated.  he held the post of District Committee, a delegate to the State Conferance and a State Councillorfor Alexandra. He was also appointed by the Government to the executive of the Strathalbyn Repatriation Committee.  In 1921 he was a member of the Memorial Committee and the Hon. Chaplain to the Australian Military Forces.

Rev. Thomas Patrick Wood, parish priest at Hopetoun, has died, aged 73 years. A native of Hobart, he came with his parents to Melbourne when a child, and was educated at Xavier College. He studied fort he priesthood in Ireland, and was ordained at Waterford on June 17, 1897, afterwards spending ten years with missions in Trinidad (West Indies). In 1907 he was. appointed to the Ballarat diocese, and at various times was stationed at Swan Hill, Koroit, Inglewood and Horsham. He enlisted in Horsham as a chaplain in the first A.I.F., and, after being in France and Palestine for four years, returned to Australia and was stationed at Ballarat, Quambatook and Ararat before becoming the first parish priest at Hopetoun in 1922. He had remained there ever since. The Bishop of Ballarat (Most Rev. Dr. O'Collins) presided at a Solemn Office and Requiem Mass at Hopetoun before the funeral from St. Joseph's Church. Returned soldiers and men of the parish formed a guard of honour. The burial service at the graveside was conducted by Rev.J. Connellan (Hopetoun), assistedby the Bishop and visiting priests. The Last Post was sounded by Mr. H. Wilson.
