Private Henry Thomas Pantlin died at 7.45 p.m. on 11 February 1917 at Fargo Military Hospital from Acute Bronchitis, age 43.

His son, 2967 Private William Reeves Pantlin 20th Battalion AIF was killed in action nearly three months later, at Bullecourt 3 May 1917 having just reached the age of 17.

Died on this date - 11th February........I thought previous posts I had made were bad days but today is worse - 6 WW1 Australian Soldiers died in England on this date in 1917....

Private Henry Thomas Pantlin was born in 1874 & re-enlisted in the A.I.F. as a 42 year old Widower Labourer from Pyrmont, Sydney, NSW.

Private Pantlin arrived in England on HMAT Benalla (A24) on 9th January, 1917 with the 5th Reinforcements of 37th Battalion. He was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital, Wiltshire on 8th February, 1917 but sadly died at 7.45 p.m. on 11th February, 1917 from Acute Bronchitis.

ALL SIX AUSTRALIAN SOLDIERS were buried in Durrington Cemetery, Wiltshire where there are a total of 141 Australian WW Soldiers.

Privates Hinchcliffe, Ley & Wheatley were buried in 15th February, 1917 & Privates Lane, McElhenney & Pantlin were buried on 16th February. His full story can be found here....
