Biography contributed by Judith Cross
Bill's father, Richard Brimelow; his grandfather, William Brimelow; and great grandfather James Brimelow were active members of the Independent Methodist Church located at Friars Green, Warrington, Lancashire. All of them were part of the alcohol abstinence society.
Bill was a religous man and carried with him during the war: a hymn book, prayer book and book on the Life of Jesus. His father, a Methodist Minister composed several of the hymns in the hymn book, which was edited by his grandfather.
Bill served with Newel Maskell, who made a comment on his Red Cross Records (see Bill's biography in documents). A similar biography is attached to Newel Maskell's war record.
Bill was survived by his parents and two sisters: Gladys and Doreen (my grandmother) and is remembered to this day by their decendants.
