1 Jan 1917: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 1339, 38th Infantry Battalion, GSW to head sustained in the front line at Armentieres. Evacuated to Advance Dressing Station (also at Armentieres) however died on route the same day.

Donald was only 17 years 6 months old when he died. His family epitaph reads- HIS DUTY NOBLY DONE.

Pte 1339 Donald Thomas Richards received a GSW to the head while in the front line at Armentieres.

He was evacuated to an Advance Dressing Station (also at Armentieres) however died on route the same day.
