In 1919c Marno changed his surname by Deed Poll to Bert

Son of Johann Conrad August Von Bertouch and Johanna Matilda Von Bertouch nee Kretschmer of Lloyd Street, Petersburg, SA.

Brother of Ernst Otto Von Bertouch who return to Australia on 9 September 1919 having served with the 10th Battalion. 

Commenced return to Australia on 10 April 1919 aboard HT Wandilla disembarking on 15 May 1919

On 19 July 1922 Marno married Emily Mona Neill in the Methodist Church, Peterborough, SA

At the time of his death he was residing in Semaphore, SA
