Obituary 20.10.1944 Guardian “Mark Armanasco died at the Proserpine Hospital on Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock, after a long illness, at the age of 66 years.
Deceased was born at Gympie and came to Proserpine in 1924 and has worked at the Proserpine Mill until his failing health prevented him from doing so.
He was a married man, his wife predeceasing him some years ago. He leaves a daughter (Mrs. W. West) and a son who resides away from the district. He also leaves 4 brothers & 8 sisters. Mrs Frank McNeill is one of the sisters.
The late Mr Armanasco was a return soldier, having served in the 1914 – 1918.
The funeral moved from the Catholic Church at 3 o’clock on Sunday afternoon. Rev. Father Monckton read the burial service at the graveside.”
