Joseph Edward Kelly (born East Maitland, New South Wales, 25.7.1882, fireman or railway guard from No. 6 Terrace, Sheriff Street, Forbes, New South Wales, enlisted 18.1.1916, 53rd and 56th Battalions, KIA 20th July 1916, Battle of Fromelles, age 33, resting at Anzac Cemetery, Sailly-sur-la-Lys, France. Plot I Row H Grave 6, awaiting memorialisation at Sandgate Cemetery,  CATHOLIC 1-A Spec. 123.

Brother of Private Frederick Edward Kelly, 4th Battalion (Reg No-474), and Robert Andrew Kelly, 4th Battalion (Reg No-7014).  Both returned to Australia
