John Ray OSBOLDSTONE was born in Rutherglen in Victoria in 1896
His parents were Thomas Fitzgerald OSBOLDSTONE & Elizabeth Mary MILTHORPE who married in Victoria in 1893

His brother Cyril Fitzgerald OSBOLDSTONE (SN 6868A) served during WW1 in the 21st Infantry Battalion and returned to Australia in 1918
