Sarah arrived in the colony aged five unassisted with parents John and Sarah Anne nee Niblock on board the Potosi arriving  August 1883. 

Sarah Mary Stafford  the daughter of John Stafford an orchardist, by this time living in Seven Hills Rd, Baulkham Hills, NSW, was trained at the Royal  Hospital for Women by 1913. The Australian contingent of nurses paid their own way to England and Europe to serve in WW1.

Following military service in WW1 she was registered doing further training at Callan Park, Sydney  in 1926. 

Sarah Mary Stafford received the Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal and died a single woman in   the R.G.H Hospital, Concord in  1962.
