Donald Grantworth LUCAS was born on 16th December, 1891 in Yass, New South Wales

His parents were Hamilton LUCAS and Margaret SLATER who married in Yass in 1891

"...643 Private (later Corporal) Donald Grantworth Lucas, 1st Light Horse Regiment, of Ardlethan via Temora, NSW. Formerly a farmer, Pte Lucas enlisted on 5 September 1914 and as a member of the 1st Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Boorara (A42) on 20 December 1914.
