Born 1 November 1921 at Rose Park, the son of Walter Healey and Florence Pulham.

Hamley enlisted on 2 August 1941 in the Australian Army. Locality of enlistment was Henley Beach, place of enlistment was Adelaide. Next of Kin was his father Walter.
