The Lehmann brothers Percy, Sydney and Beaumont fought during World War One. Percy left Adelaide on board RMS Mongolia on 9 March 1916 and went to France with the 50th Battalion on14 June. He was hospitalised on 1 March 1917 and rejoined his unit in France on 16 July. Percy was appointed Lance Corporal on 5 November. He suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in action on 25 April 1918 at Villers-Bretonneux and was invalided to England where he was admitted to Richmond Military Hospital on 18 May. Being classed as medically unfit, Percy was returned to Australia on the Karoola on 4 September and discharged on 30 March 1919.
