Edward was born in Knapps Creek, just outside of Beaudesert Queensland. He was the 4th youngest of 13 children.
He married Ethel Winifred nee Love on the 13th February 1925.
Both the Love and the Hodgson Families are Pioneer families of the District.
He is listed on the Beaudesert War Memorial, and also with the Logan Village Museum Honour Roll.
