Charles was born 3.2.1890 in London to Michael and Mary Ann (Couchman).
Arrived in Queensland, Australia 5.8.1910 aboard the Norseman.
Enlisted on 25.11.1916 in Townsville and embarked from Sydney on 24.1.1917 aboard Ayrshire. He was posted to the 49th Battalion who were involved in the Battle of Polygon Wood. Throughout the winter of 1917 they were involved in trench warfare.
On 30.4.1918 he was involved in the battle for Villers-Bretonneux, which succeeded in dislodging the Germans from the town.
On 8.10.1919 he departed England for Australia and was discharged 13.1.1920.
He moved to Proserpine in the mid 20’s, residing in Mill Street and working as a labourer. From 1930 to 1949, Charles worked as a wards man at the Proserpine Hospital.
Charles Carrol passed away on 9.1.1961 in the Proserpine Hospital aged 70 years. He was buried in the Proserpine Old Cemetery OP7 grave 1292. His Plaque unveiled 27.7.2024.

He moved to Proserpine in the mid 20’s, residing in Mill Street and working as a labourer. From 1930 to 1949, Charles worked as a wards man at the Proserpine Hospital.
