John Thomas Redgen
John Thomas [Jack] REDGEN was my uncle. He was born in Wycheproof Victoria in 1888, son of John William Redgen and Mary Ann Webster. The family moved to Chinchilla Queensland in 1906.
Jack enlisted 24 June 1915 aged 26 years and 6 months. Draper. Mother Mrs M-A Redgen/ Ridgen, Chinchilla. 5ft 7 and half inches tall, eyes blue, fresh complexion, hair brown, weight 135 pounds.

disembarked Marseilles 03/04/1916
Appointed lance corporal 09/6/16 in France, promoted Corporal 14/7/16;
wounded in action in France 27 /7/16 in both thighs, left hand and left knee;
sent from France to England from Etaples 3/8/16; transferred to military hospital in Chatham.
Returned to Australia May 1917, discharged August 1917.
