Add my storyBiography contributed by Andreena Hockley
"KILLED IN ACTION - Mrs. Thomson, of Crawford, Condah, received a telegram from the military authorities on Wednesday informing her that her brother, Pte L. V. Manning, who was reported missing in July last, was killed in action on that date. Private Manning was a native of Portland, but enlisted from West Australia. He resided here till he had attained manhood, and his many friends will regret to learn of his death. He was a fine athlete, a good cricketer and footballer, and possessed all the qualities that go to make up the truly ideal Australian soldier."
