Died on this date - 7th February........another very sad day in 1917 - 5 Australian Soldiers died in England....

Thomas Joseph Desmond was born at Townsville, Queensland in 1887 & enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 10th July, 1916. He arrived in England for further training with 41st Battalion on 10th January, 1917.
Private Desmond was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital on 6th February, 1917 with influenza. He died at 7 p.m. on 7th February, 1917 from pneumonia.

5 SOLDIERS WERE BURIED in Durrington Cemetery between 12th & 14th February, 1917. Durrington Cemetery, Wiltshire contains 141 Australian WW1 Soldiers.
