Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Mrs Alice Palmer, C/o W. Palmer, Croydon Junction, Queensland

Mr George Palmer Sincere regret will be felt by many Rockhampton friends at the news of the death of Mr George Stephen Palmer, which occurred in Brisbane on Friday night, following a stroke which occurred a few weeks back.
The late Mr Palmer was born at Maryborough. For many years he was associated with Mr John Morrison in the conduct of the Leichhardt Hotel and later was licensee of the Club  and National Hotels, Rockhampton. Transferring to Brisbane he became manager of the Anzac Club and held the position at the time of his death. He married Miss Dorothy Morrison, of Rockhampton, and is survived by his widow and two daughters. The funeral will take place today. Mr Don Morrison, brother-in-law, left for Brisbane on Saturday.
Mr Palmer was a keen bowler and a member of the Athelstane Club. He served in the first World War and later was an active member of the RSSAILA.
