'COUNTRY VOLUNTEERS.
ALLORA, July 29.
Mr. A. A Cameron entertained six Allora recruits at the Railway Hotel on Monday evening, the newly enlisted men being Messrs. J. Hughes, R. Weatherly, P. Jensen, A. Gwynne, T. Spanning, and R. J. Owens. In proposing the toast of the guests, Mr Cameron explained that four of them were A.L.H. men, and he, as an old A.L.H. man had desired to give them a send off. The toast was supported by Councillor T. Muir (shire chairman), and Mr. H.G. Deacon, Mr. Hughes suitably responding. The men left today for Brisbane.' from The Brisbane Courier 30 Jul 1915 (nla.gov.au)
