Military Medal
During the operations at WARFUSEE, east of AMINES on 8th August 1918, this N.C.O. and a section of 8 men were held up by an enemy post of four time that number.
He with 2 men, deliberately rushed the position from a flank, killing 3 of the enemy, 8 of the enemy surrendered to him with one machine gun and remainer fled, followed by this N.C.O. alone who rushed out and inflicted casualties on them with a Lewis Gun.
It was apparent later that his post had been holding up a whole company and its disposal was due alone to theis N.C.O.'s gallant conduct.
