Errol Johnson served in the Australian Army with his National Service, which included a tour of South Vietnam with RAASC 85 Transport Platoon. After returning to Australia he joined the SA Metropolitan Fire Service and attained Station Master rank before retiring as TPI. He was president of the Glenelg RSL Sub-Branch and was instumental in establishing the Glenelg Holdfast Shores War Memorial. He managed the closure of Glenelg RSL and the sale of its building and the subsequent merger with the Plympton RSL Sub-Branch in 2001. Errol was the first president of the Plympton Glenelg RSL Sub-Branch. He was a member of the RSL SA State Board for several years and is passionate about the RSL and rights for ex-service personnel.
