Service Summary:
L/Cpl Terrance Wilson served with distinction as a medic in 3 Platoon, A Company, 3RAR during the battalion's second tour of Vietnam in 1971. Prior to deployment, he was a member of the 3RAR Pipes and Drums, and upon returning to Australia, transferred to 6RAR Pipes and Drums, where he served in Singapore and Brisbane. He was part of the unit’s response during the recovery efforts following Cyclone Tracy in Darwin.
A gifted and lifelong piper, Terry began with the Blue Lake Pipe Band and performed with multiple civilian and military pipe bands, including the Queensland Police Pipe Band and City of Blacktown Pipe Band. He proudly performed at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 1975.
Legacy:
Terry is remembered not only as a capable soldier and medic but as a devoted musician whose contribution to the cultural fabric of the regiments he served was immense.
