Obituary that appeared in the Advertiser on the 25 November 2017 reads:
Taken tragically on November 20, 2017 Aged 82 years. Loved and loving husband of Sue. Much loved Father of Kris, Michelle and Anita. Father-in-law of Maria, Ian and Matthew. Proud and adored Pa of Dannielle, Nathan, Alyssa, Henri, Kai, Maalia, Makenna and Xiomara. Never forgotten, now at peace. A weary soldier gone home.
