Bryan reached the rank of Wing Commander and was the Provost Marshall when he left the RAAF.

He was awarded the following service medals:

Vietnam Medal

Defence Force Service Medal with Frist Clasp

National Medal with Clasp

Vietnam Campaign Medal

Prior to joining the RAAF, Bryan served as a Senior Constable in the South Australian Police Force. He was the first person to fly an aircraft for the SA Police.

 

After leaving the RAAF he served as Chief Superintendant in the Australian Protective Services.
