He was discharged medically unfit for further military service on 24 July 1918
His brother, Private John Dalgleish Nethercote [1887–1918, ] Service No. 7030, also fell. He served with the 15th Battalion, AIF.
They were sons of William Nethercote [born in Scotland in 1854] –died 22.05.1937 and Agnes Dalgleish Nethercote born Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland on 27th July 1858-died 5th June 1922. The parents are interred in Ipswich General Cemetery, Ipswich, Ipswich City, Queensland, Australia.
