Keith Stuart MacKenzie PIPER was born on 9th February, 1894 in Broken Hill, New South Wales
His parents were Richard PIPER and Jean Osborne Ralston MacKENZIE who married in 1890 in South Australia - both his parents were deceased by the time he enlisted
He had 3 years previous service in the Junior Cadets & 2 years in the Senior Cadets before he enlisted for service in WW1 on 22nd August, 1914 - he embarked with the 2nd Infantry Battalion from Sydney on the ship HMAT Suffolk
Keith was Killed in Action at Gallipoli on 8th May, 1915 and is buried in Beach Cemetery in the Gallipoli Peninsular
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial and he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & the Victory Medal.
