Phillip the Poet

Phillip and his 3 brothers Alphonsus, Gavin & Patrick all served and enlisted from Clare SA (1939). Many articles were printed in the local paper Northern Argus Clare, from information sent by Phillip to his mother Mrs Joe Nolan (Lucy Chard). Phillips detailed events including Hiroshima and guarding the Imperial Palace whilst serving again in Korea 1950. You'd think after WW2 service - once would be enough. How proud was their mother. I am a great niece, and am also proud of the information and detail I have on all of them. They sounded like your typical layback Aussie (of the day) who always seemed to be able to put a humorous side to truly traumatic events.
