Fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs F R VINCENT. Educated at Rose Park Public School, john played football with RAN Squadron Team for 12 years and ice hockey and Rugby football. Married with three children and residing at 24 Warren Avenue, Prospect, in civilian life he was a draper. He joined the Navy in 1923 till his time expired in 1935 and rejoined in June 1940 and served on the Mine Sweeper Flotilla until September 1942 and was then discharged as physically unit. He had previously served on HMAS Sydney (I), Canberra, Australia, Melbourne, Parramatta, Platypus and several other ships. Prior to joining the Navy he was with the 18th Light Horse 1920-23.
