Enlisted in Navel Reserves prior to outbreak of WW2.
Saw action in Europe, Middle East and the Pacific.
Was a Rat of Tobruk. and onboard HMAS Australia when it was hit by Kamikazee in Leyte Gulf. Married in 1945 to Mervyna Todd. Frank found it difficult to settle down regarding work after the war. Worked various jobs and eventually settled on a Tanker driver for the SA Gas Company. A member of various Service clubs including The Rats of Tobruk association, HMAS Australia Club, 1939ers Association and the Blackwood RSL for which he was secretary for many years. Loved his family and travelled extensively after retirement.
