Carl's parents were Conrad Johan Fredrick Buhmann and Christianne Auguste Marie Leffler. Carl attended school at Mt Pleasant, Upper North Pine School. The Buhmann family was pioneers of Mt Pleasant. He was working as a stockman at Woodford when he enlisted 19 November 1914 and joined the 2nd Light Horse, Field Ambulance. Carl died aged 83. His brother Herman Otto [6784] was killed.
