Son of Mr. and Mrs. R. RYAN, 4 Park Terrace Bowden. Residing at 43 Drayton Street Bowden, William was married with five sons and one daughter. Educated at Hindmarsh he followed Football and Cricket and was fond of Cycling, taking part in many events winning trophies for track racing. In civil life he worked at various factories, and at the time of enlistment in September 1939 was employed by Richards, Body Builders. He enlisted in the Navy for 12 years and served on 'Australia' and 'Penguin'.
