In 1911 he was a 28 year old career soldier at Longmoor Camp. Hampshire and .married .

At one point he had been a Regimental Sergeant Major.

Served with the  King’s Own Scottish Borderers for 12 years. Emigrated to Australia 1912.

Enlisted: 12.9.16, Coburg, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Remembered on the Clyne War Memorial and on the Clyne United Free Church War Memorial, Brora, Sutherland.

He left a widow, Isabella Dalton [formerly of Dalchalm, Clyne ], 17 Victoria Street, Coburg, Victoria and a daughter, Elsie.
