Bruce Morton was born on 15 May 1915 in Redruth, South Australia. His parents were Maxwell John Morton and Mabel Annie (nee Dunhill).
On 18 April 1944 Bruce enlisted in the RAAF at Adelaide and was given the service number 152772. Bruce’s previous employment was given as a Munition Worker and prior to that, he was a Motor Mechanic.
From 23 May 1944 to 20 June 1944 Bruce undertook a Guards Instructional Course at Shepparton, Victoria. He served with 21 Squadron in Camden and Leyburn in mid 1944, returning to Adelaide in September 1944. From 15 October 1944 he served as a Leading Aircraftman at 54 Mile base and the Livingstone base in the Northern Territory until his return to Adelaide on 11 December 1945.
Bruce was discharged on 8 March 1946 and on 22 March 1947 married Margaret Jessie Mackay in the College Park Congregational Church.
Bruce died on 17 January 1972 in Kenneth Street, Bondi, New South Wales and was cremated in the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, Matraville, New South Wales.
