One of five brothers serving in WWII, Stoker Petty Officer Ernest Allan Morris (Service No:23213) enlisted in the RAN on 29 May 1939 as a Stoker on HMAS Cerberus. Stoker Petty Officer Morris was attached to  HMAS Platypus at Discharge on 3 June 1947. His younger brothers also served in the RAN - Raymond (KiA on board HMAS Sydney in 1941) and Colin.

George and Elizabeth married in 1897 in Kadina, and lived in Keith, Wallaroo, Port Lincoln, Medindie and Adelaide, where they raised their family and George was a Stonemason.

Ernest worked as a Metal Finisher and was in Melbourne, Victoria in 1939 when he enlisted in the Navy. In 1942 in Sydney, NSW he married Verna Melva Schiller (b1919 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Verna was working in Sydney as a Machinist.
