Bill applied to the Soldier Settlement Scheme and was allocated land on Kangaroo Island - Section 32 & 33, Hundred of Gosse and named the property Yakilo.

Bill passed away at the Finders Private Hospital on 3rd February 2011 aged 84. He was previously a soldier settler from Gosse on Kangaroo Island. He was the husband of Natalie (deceased) and is survived by his children Tom, Coleen, Darky, Marcia and Bill grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 7. Bill helped to establish the Western Districts Sports Centre. On his property he established a very successful Murray Greys Cattle Stud
