Son of Stephen Uridge and Hannah Amelia Uridge nee Bailey of Mourilyan, QLD. Brother of Henry Stephen Uridge MM who returned to Australia on 20 July 1919 having served with the 24th Battalion
19 June 1916 - enlisted at Hughenden, QLD, with the 4th Pioneer Battalion and with the rank of Private.
19 May 1917 - transferred to the Australian Army Medical Corps
26 September 1917 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Borda
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
3 January 1918 - discharged at the 1st Military District as medically unfit due to an old fracture of the left forearm.
On 21 December 1922 George married Gertrude Ethel May Thick in QLD
