RAAF Pilot
Born in Mildura, Victoria on 21 January 1916
He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force as S/N. 417143 on 6 December 1941
He conducted most of his training in South Australia at Victor Harbour, Parafield, Mallala, Cressy, Mt. Gambier before moving to East Sale, subsequently being posted as a Pilot with No. 15 Squadron at Camden, New South Wales upon the units formation in January 1944
On the 15 November 1943 Beaufort A9-423 piloted by F/SGT Wishart, was on an instrument and low flying exercise over Lake King. While over the lake the pilot misjudged the aircraft’s height above the water and the aircrew struck the water. This then fractured the reduction engine gear housing. While landing at Bairnsdale the airscrew became detached & damage was done to the undercarriage and tailplane
He flew a total of 1134.50 hours including 194.20 operational hours in New Guinea on anti-submarine & anti-barge patrols, and attacks against Japanese ground positions in support of the Aitape–Wewak campaign
He discharged with the rank of Pilot Officer on 14 January 1946
