Robert Henry STRATFORD was born in St Peters in Adelaide, South Australia on 14th December, 1919
His parents were Clarence Roy STRATFORD & Doorothy Gertrude KITHER who married in Walkerville, South Australia on 6th November, 1915
Biography
WW2 - 12 Sep 1940 - Joined the RAAF.
Feb 1941 - Killed while training as a pilot at the Flight Training School, Point Cook, Vic - had just got his wings and was only 21 years of age.
In an unfortunate accident, another plane landed on top of his plane at Werribee. He was the only person killed - he was found with the parachute open, but it appeared he had jumped too late - his flying instructor broke his back.
