His parents were Hedley Mervyn NIGHTINGALE & Olive Louisa Jeanette OSBORN who married in Christ Church, SA on 16th November, 1905
He married Marjorie Kate PERRY on 13th July, 1940

His brother Mervyn Osborn NIGHTINGALE (SN VX73697) also served during WW2 & was discharged on 18th January, 1946 (Gunner with 2/12 Field Regiment)
