Leslie was born as Leslie Vivian NEWALL in London, England on 23rd May, 1917
His parents were Keith William NEWALL and Violet Ruby ASHTON who married in UK in 1917
Before enlisting in the RAAF he had 2 years service in the Royal Navy Reserve
He married Helen Joyce HONEY on 16th September, 1939 in Hawthorn, South Australia
