Sergeant John Harding Carroll 416243 DFC was discharged November 1945 with the rank of Flying Officer - 21OTU
In October 1942 he survived the loss of Avro Anson AW849 of Number 6 Service Flying Training School which crashed 5 miles west of Tantanoola, South Australia
Sergeant Richard Leonidas Ayres 409014 (discharged in January 1946 with the rank of Flying Officer while posted to 12SQN) also survived but Flying Officer Baxter Watson 411417 was killed in the incident
