HIS DUTY FEARLESSLY AND NOBLY DONE. EVER REMEMBERED BY THOSE AT HOME
Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Anderson, of Halbury, have been notified that their eldest son, PO. Peter Robert Anderson, previously reported missing on the night of March 31, 1944, is now presumed to have lost his life on that date. PO. Anderson was pilot of a Lancaster bomber attached to 460 Squadron, detailed to attack Nuremberg, Germany, which failed to return to base. PO Anderson sailed for England in April 1943. Before joining the RAAF, in 1941, he was working on his father's farm at Halbury. His fiancee was Miss Edna Baum, of Auburn.
