Kenneth Hilton Guest was born on 13th April, 1895, at Broken Hill, New South Wales, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Guest. He was educated at the Public School, Chatsworth Island, Clarence River. He entered the Bank’s service on 5th September, 1911, at Casino, New South Wales, and in September, 1912, was transferred to Lismore.

Kenneth Guest enlisted on 19th October, 1915, and later on joined the 31st Battalion, A.I.F. He was promoted to corporal in November, 1916, and temporary warrant officer, Class 2, in March, 1918.
