WELFARE.—On February 19, at Brisbane, Warrant Officer Thomas Walter Welfare (result of aircraft accident), third beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Welfare, of Philip avenue, Leabrook, loving brother of Henry, Roy and Les. Other States please copy.

Warrant Officer Thomas Walter Welfare, 23, of Philip Avenue, Leabrook, who was killed in an air crash on Thursday, had only a week to finish his interim service with the R.A.A.F. He had told his parents by letter he had applied to remain in the R.A.A.F. W.O. Welfare was one of the 16 occupants killed when a four-engmined Lincoln bomber crashed at Amberley aerodrome, Brisbane. Third son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Welfare, he enlisted in the R.A.A.F. in 1943. His service included operational flights over Germany. W.O. Welfare was educated at Salisbury, Parkside., and Unley Schools. He was engaged to be married to Miss Pat Corbett, of Townsville, Queensland.

On the 19th of February 1948 Lincoln aircraft A73-11 of Number 12 Squadron (82 Wing) crashed on landing at Amberley aerodrome in Queensland killing all on board - 6 crew and 10 passengers -
