Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Edward and Catherine Cantwell, of Walkerville, South Australia.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Cantwell, of Alfred Street, Walkerville, have been notified that their only son, F/Sgt. Anthony James (Tony) Cantwell, was killed in an aircraft accident at Finningley, England, on October 2, and was buried at Regional Cemetery, Harrogate. He had spent his 21st birthday overseas. The late F/Sgt Cantwell was educated at Sisters of St. Joseph Schools, Lower North Adelaide, and Christian Brothers' College, Adelaide. He was a member of the Catholic Young Men's Society, Prospect, and of the Holy Name Society, Walkerville, and was altar boy at St. Mary's, Lower North Adelaide; he had the honor of serving at Mass in England. Before enlisting, he was employed at Claude Neon Ltd., Keswick. To his bereaved parents, sympathy is here respectfully  extended. May his soul rest in peace.
