Son of Edward James Boyd and Ada Louisa Boyd; husband of Esma Madge Boyd, of Hackney, South Australia.
DEARLY LOVED AND SADLY MISSED BY HIS WIFE MADGE, OF ADELAIDE
Mrs. M. Boyd, Hackney road, Hackney, has been informed that her husband, WO Ronald Howard Boyd, who was posted missing after operational flights over occupied territory, is now presumed to have lost his life. WO Boyd, who was the third son of Mrs. and the late Mr. E. J. Boyd, Rochester street, Leabrook, was educated at Marryatville and the Norwood High School. He joined the RAAF in 1940. and left for overseas in 1942. He was attached to Coastal Command, and later transferred to a Lancaster squadron. Before joining the RAAF WO Boyd was a teacher in the Education Department, and had taught at Norwood, Wikawatt and Flinders street practising school. His widow (formerly Miss Madge Harvey) is a member of the Education Department. A younger brother. Allan, is also in the RAAF.
